The International Union of Heat and Frost Insulators Local 50 represents nearly 200 of the best-trained and most-qualified insulation industry professionals across central Ohio.
Our members specialize in commercial and industrial insulation, while also handling fire stopping, metal lagging and asbestos, mold and lead remediation. Our expertise allows us to install and repair systems in buildings that save energy, reduce greenhouse emissions and protect the safety of all inhabitants.
Our vast jurisdiction extends from the eastern to western borders of the state of Ohio and two counties in Indiana as a result of a 2005 merger between Local 44 in Columbus and Local 79 in Dayton. We currently maintain our union hall and training center in Columbus and Dayton, respectively.
